Stick to one color.. Roll everything. You can live off what you put in a roll aboard for 2 weeks!
Fab idea on the color! I never roll mine :/
I use space saver bags!! They are amazing! I pack for a whole weeks vacation in my carry on. It weighs about 50lbs but o well.
Some asshole bag designer who clearly never flies thought up a hot little item called the expandable rolling suitcase. Sounds great right?
Here’s the catch: These bags are not considered carry-on sized by most airlines once expanded.
If you’re expecting to get that sucker in the OHB you better resist the urge to pull that little zipper that makes the bag balloon up.
Too often will people come up to me in a panic because “the overhead bins are too small”. Shoot me.
I was taught a LOOOONG time ago to pack only what I think I absolutely need and then take half out……….It’s been working like a charm for 30 years!
I think I will start doing this. Thanks, Trixy!
I pack my bag, then go have a cup of coffee, come back and take half of it back out. I can’t help it, no matter how much I try, my first attempt always has more than I need. I not carry an Osprey Porter 46 which fits in every plane I have flown down to the CRJ-200. So far I’ve managed to go 2 weeks with just the one bag.
Awesome advice!
Rolling is absolutely the way to go. Also, if you’re traveling from location to location with one bag, bring a large plastic bag with you. I stick my dirty clothes into the plastic bag to keep them from rubbing off on my clean clothes and stinking up my bag.
Also, the only items of clothing that you should be changing daily are your shirt, your socks, and your underwear. Bras and pants can be worn more than once before needing a wash. I typically only bring three of each for a week long trip. You may need to bring more bras if you are headed to a hot, humid climate that will make you sweat a lot.
Keep a full change of clothes in your carry-on bag whenever you travel in case of in-flight spills or lost baggage. I usually pack a light dress and leggings since these roll up nice and tight, so they don’t take up much room.
Lastly, a bra packing tip; if you wear bras with a moulded cup, stack them one of top of the other so that the cups are together like spoons in a drawer, fold the bras onto each other so that the cups create a circle in the middle, and then stuff as many of yours socks an underwear into the middle. This minimizes the space that these items occupy while also helping your bras keep their shape.
